 I'm not a very good blogger since i do this sporadically, but i do tend to take a ton of photos which is basically how i document my life.

So i'll add these photos w comments....

This 1st image is of a few blue meanies i harvested in a hurry this morning.

This is the underside of a meanie w the veil still attached.

This is a veil that i pulled away myself.   Its not until the veil drops that the spores can be released to propgate more.   I, personally, think the underside of shrooms are so pretty.  

This is a stem after the veil has dropped on its own.  This is when the spores can drop.   I tend to pull the shrooms just before or as the veil has dropped. Otherwise, if left in the substrate too long the spores will drop & it gets messy.

I have been dumping my contaminated mycelium into a garden bed.   Now & then i find a lovely little shroom that fought its way to sirvive.  This is an example.  Though i have zero idea what strain it is.  Lol

My experiences...

 Ive not taken many trips yet to have enough to write about. Im thinking ill use this little blog to keep track of what ive grown, my novice experience of how they grow etc. My first batch i did so many things wrong, yet i had an amazing crop . I started w a grow bag of grain that i bought online. I forgot to label the strain that i had innoculated into the bag,  forgot to write a date of when i actually innoculated,  so it seemed to take FOREVER to fill that bag w mycelium.  Maybe it did since i didnt date it?  Once the mycelium did start growing it was sooo pretty.   I loved watching it grow.  Still do love watching all the various strains grow.  I look at them nearly every day in awe. Next i used substrate that i had also bought online to mix my bag of unknown mycelium in.  This was my 1st experience, i had purchased a monotub which took a lot of substrate.  Again, after a week of seeimg nothing happening i was disappointed. Mycelium

  Mycelium is so delicate , dainty,  very pretty,  to me. Whether its growing in agar, which ive yet to get a good photo of,  or growing in a grain jar,  or beginning to grow on the surface of substrate.   I love seeing the white threadlike growth.

Not so much

 It's been a long while since I've even grown anything . I had way too much previously grown and just got out of growing. Maybe will get back to it at some point. I actually do love growing.
